Services and Procedures
We’re a long-established practice of board-certified obstetrics and gynecology physicians, certified nurse midwife and physican’s assistant. As a team, we provide an array of services for women in all stages of life.
Our proximity to Labor and Delivery at Christiana Hospital allows us to give our patients close and personal attention while in labor. We are even able to follow the labor and fetal heart rate from the office with remote technology. Our goal is a safe and rewarding birth experience. Our skills in both routine and high-risk obstetrical care enable us to care for even the most high-risk patient.
For many women GYN care begins in mid-adolescence, through adulthood, during pregnancy, and into the menopausal years. We offer a full range of GYN services including pap smears, contraceptive counseling, treatment of menstrual disorders and infertility evaluation and treatments. Screening for sexually transmitted diseases is available as needed. Minimally invasive surgery, using the laparoscope and hysteroscope, allows us to diagnose and treat a variety of gynecological problems such as fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, heavy menstrual bleeding and ovarian cysts with less pain, smaller scars and a faster return to work. All of our physicians are skilled in these techniques. We now offer hysteroscopy as an in-office procedure as well that takes less time, less anesthesia and less money charged to the patient.
Evaluation of normal and abnormal pap smears is a large part of preventative GYN care. All of our physicians and our physician’s assistant are experienced in colposcopy, which is an essential in the evaluation of the abnormal Pap smear. Many pre-cancers of the cervix can be treated right in the office or in the surgicenter adjacent to us.
For most patients, we are able to provide OB and GYN ultrasounds. These ultrasounds are performed right in our office with both day and evening hours. Our ultrasound technicians are certified and have special training in OB/GYN and our equipment is state of the art.
We can perform obstetrical ultrasounds for pregnancy dating, viability, fetal anatomy and fetal well being. GYN ultrasounds can be done to look at a variety of problems such as fibroids, abnormal bleeding, heavy menstrual cycles and ovarian cysts.
